When patients don’t feel heard by their healthcare provider, it can be difficult to feel supported during the weight loss journey. We strive to make our patients feel heard, seen, and most importantly supported on their weight loss journey! Most patients have heard, “eat less, exercise more” or “weight loss is simple- calories in and calories out”. This is an outdated, oversimplification of how weight loss occurs. There are many metabolic factors that can impact weight loss. We work to investigate the underlying causes of weight gain and correct them through diet, exercise, and when appropriate, medication. We also address the psychological triggers of overeating, such as anxiety, depression, and stress and encourage treatment of these conditions with weight neutral medications through a mental health practitioner or your primary care doctor.
